Non Hazardous Disposal Timeline

Steps required for non hazardous waste disposal from initial enquiry through to landfill disposal at either Teesport or Cowpen Bewley.

Step 1 - Enquiry

After enquiring about our non hazardous waste disposal services, one of our team will ask for specific details required to be able to process the enquiry further.

More often than not, this information is already to hand, but if that is not the case, then we would only be too happy to offer guidance to help getting the information

Step 2 - Information

Details required:

  • Waste description
  • EWC code
  • Waste source/location
  • For soils we need a basic analysis suite, including metals, TPH, PAH, WAC test, asbestos test, generally this is not required.
  • Expected tonnage
Step 3 - Waste Characterisation

Prior to disposing of the waste to landfill, to stay within the law we need to clasify the waste, this can be achieved by filling out the Teesport or Cowpen Bewley Landfill Waste Classification questionaire on our website.

Once accepted the waste can be disposed.

The characterisation assesses the composition of the material and determines the concentrations of the hazardous substances in the material. The assessment of contaminated soil (excavated soil) to determine whether it is hazardous waste is dependent on the presence of “hazardous substances” exceeding particular thresholds.

Step 4 - Quotation

Completing the previous step enables us to provide a competitive quote. Highfield are proud to offer services which are the very best value for money, since we want to look forward to a long lasting, mutually beneficial relationship with all our customers.

If our quote is acceptable to you, we can then continue to the next step which is the characterisation of the waste.
